The distance erased...

Perfect ambience …. Perfect evening …. A gathering … family, friends, kids … celebration …laughs, shouts, cries, wishes …

Smaysha is sitting besides the pool, playing with ripples in the water. A gentle breeze blows; she lifts her hand to move the strands of hair from her face. From the corner of her eye she sees him walk towards her, a smile curves her lips, but quickly she hides it.

‘What are doing here’, asks Seher. Having fun, she replies.

Seher: You do realize you are too old for it
Smaysha: Read my face, does it look like I care
Seher: Well lets see … ur looking at me, and ur replying to my queries … I would say u do care

Smaysha: Hmmm … so wot are u doing here.
Seher: Don’t bother, it isn’t that I was missing you and came looking for you, I have better options
Smaysha: Well lets see … ur still standing here, and your not searching anymore … I would say u were looking for me

Seher: So are we even now?
Smaysha: Yap, seems like.
Seher: Cool, you wanna come back to the party
Smaysha: Naah, it’s a bore. I don’t like it.
Seher: Glad we have one thing in common.

This was not the only conversation happening, the expressions in the eye were talking on completely different lines.

He lowers his eyes and turns to go back, halts after taking two steps and turns back

Seher: Looks like I forgot to say something. Welcome to the family!
Smaysha: There is a blue color parcel on the chair to your right, its has a name that strikes a bell to me, looks like I have heard that before, u might wanna check it out.

He opens it, there is beautiful present, and a card that reads
------------------------------
“Happy Birthday Son!!”

With love from,
Stepmom

The distance erased, a tight hug, a small tears drops within the embrace
